Papierdoll Magazine Launches New iPapier Blog with Debut of August 2007 Magazine

New York, NY (PRWEB) August 15, 2007 -- Online fashion magazine Papierdoll.net debuted the August 2007 issue with news of the launch of their international fashion blog entitled iPapier, http://ipapier.papierdoll.net The blog unofficially launched mid-July with extensive coverage of Hong Kong fashion week. It followed up with immediate coverage of Amsterdam and Berlin fashion weeks respectively. While publishing photos of the events as they happened, the editorial team of iPapier published reviews from the shows highlighting emerging designers from both events. The international blog is set to provide coverage of London fashion week coming this September.

The staff of iPapier includes stylist (now editor in chief) Tenisha Anderson, writer Marquita Harris and photographer Anne-Marie Michel. The team provided extensive coverage for Papierdoll during London's fall fashion week this past February. During that time, the team covered several major designer shows including Gareth Pugh, Duro Olowu, Noir, Betty Jackson and several others.

Editor Tenisha Anderson remarks, "our coverage was distinct online in that it provided a continuous feed after the New York fashion week high." The show coverage also contained behind the scenes images while also providing an international view of upcoming designers.

"One of my favorite set of photos," adds photographer Anne-Marie Michel, "is the series from Basso and Brooke's show backstage, there's this constant movement behind the scenes and eventually what you see front of house is this beautiful show."

During the first week of launch, iPapier received nearly 10,000 unique visitors and since that point the number has doubled in subsequent weeks. To continue the remarkable growth, the blog will begin focusing towards the latter half of August and ongoing from that point on several international features including street fashions from various cities, political issues affecting the fashion industry, including the recent decisions to ban underage models as well as the focus on underweight models at various international fashion weeks.

"There is so much going on in the fashion industry outside of the United States that something like iPapier really works on an international level," states Anderson.

The success of iPapier has also been buffeted by exclusive interviews with emerging designers such as Helen Massey who talks about her influences in designing hats, her future collections and what it means have the spotlight on her works.

In addition to the launch of iPapier, Papierdoll's August issue also features several articles focusing on women's issues including the physiological effects of fashion on the human body. One of the most prominent articles in this vein is a piece entitled Coutorture. The story focuses on wearing high heel shoes and the effect it has on the body. Penned by writer Lianne Woolley, the article looks at long-term effects, what the fashion industry is doing to create better shoes and the orthopedics behind the fashion. Editor in Chief of the Papierdoll network of sites, Michelle Bell states, "the launch of our new international brand and the strength of our content shows that Papierdoll is here to stay, online is the future of the industry and we intend to be one of the sites leading in that regard."

Both the launch of iPapier and the Coutorture feature are published in the August 2007 issue of Papierdoll's online fashion magazine. Other features published in this issue include a fall fashion photo story photographed by world renowned photographer Reka Nyari, a fall essentials preview by Papierdoll market editor Samantha Cabrera, and a beauty feature focusing on fall hair.
